I can resize it only by tuning panel size, and it does no effect to applet;
to reproduce add a widget to panel, like network speed or memory usage, go to
settings,
- appearance:
display style - text only
- sensors details:
sensors - put your text or leave unchanged
text you enter or default one will not appear, or will be cut off
