Thank you for the bug report!
I tried to reproduce this issue on the current release of KDE Connect (24.05)
and it worked for me without issues. I suspect this was fixed as part of the
many improvements to Wayland support in the last 2 years, in KF6/Plasma 6 in
particular.
Is this still affecting you? And if it is, could you provide some information
about your system?
