The default changed in Plasma 6.0, this hasn't propagated everywhere yet. The setting default behavior might change, but a lot of users might have got used to the current behavior, so we will want a setting there too. The FileWidget does not match Dolphin behavior: in dolphin, if the view is not hoovered, the preview shows the selected file again.
