Experiencing same bug. Found a reliable way to reproduce it:
Hover on taskbar icon -> Hover on taskbar window thumbnail -> Move cursor from
thumbnail -> Freeze
Clicking on thumbnail, clicking too fast, modifying items on panel, changing
themes also freezes panel.
No errors or warnings when freeze happens. Process needs to be killed.
