Bug ID: 490798 Summary: On the file picker, "allowing detailed view expansion" hides the "visualization panel (F11) Classification: Applications Product: kate Version: 24.05.2 Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kwrite Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: paninomaninod...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- *** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Click to open a file 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT On the file picker, besides the zoom control, there's a option button. If you click on the first option, "detailed view", if the visualization side panel (F11) is enabled it is automatically hidden. You have to click to unable it to enable it again. Happens every time. EXPECTED RESULT I discovered it while I was investigating the settings. Seems like it's not uncommon for Linux programas do have this problem. For example, a program to hand imagens. When you want to open some image from it the file picker doesn't automatically filters for file extension, prioritizing the images on the folder. KWrite has this problem, the file picker has no option to filer for file types. Why doesn't it automatically filters text files? Can this be changed?
