I'm having the same issue.
It seemed to work fine in 6.0.5, but after updating to 6.1.1, GPU usage
increased noticeably.
Disabling ICC profiles fixed the issue.
I've looked in bugzilla, forums, reddit and tried lots of different things,
but disabling triple buffering and desktop blur effects didn't help.
