I cannot reproduce the behavior on windows at all on 5.2.3-68d178c.
You describe using Alt to sample color? The default key is Ctrl, if its changed
that could be the issue maybe as Alt is used to access menus quickly on
windows. Testing briefly with alt to sample color, after alt+tab to krita if
alt is pressed again with no other input the window manager will capture
keyboard for one press. however if alt is pressed and a color is sampled
everything works as expected.
Please do not confirm the bug yourself, that is for developers to do
