--- Comment #12 from Michael <pplen...@gmail.com> ---
I can also confirm this bug is still there after all these years. Im a new user
using Fedora 40 KDE Wayland with plasma 6.1, nvidia rtx 3060, NVIDIA-SMI
550.90.07, Driver Version: 550.90.07, CUDA Version: 12.4.

Whenever I put a media frame on my desktop, my memory usage consistently keeps
climbing until my whole system freezes, forcing me to do a hard restart. This
has been pretty much the only real issue i wasnt able to fix as a new user, and
its driving me up the wall.

I have found that killing and restarting plasmashell via the command "killall
plasmashell && kstart5 plasmashell" works as a sort of bandaid fix. I have
disabled the Widget for the mean time however.

I plead to all that this issue be revised, because after all these years, this
is STILL a problem, and quite important for new user experiences to not shoo
them away from KDE!
