Considering I'm on xdg-desktop-portals v1.18.4 (as mentioned in comment #30) and the issue didn't start occurring for me on an upgrade of that package, only KDE's, I'm not sure how I'm meant to reconcile that. If it is an upstream issue then that implies it's been an issue for 2+ years.
