Bug ID: 488704 Summary: [KDE Plasma 6.1.0] Monitor unable to turn off after idle. Classification: KDE Neon Product: neon Version: unspecified Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org Reporter: charles2000w...@gmail.com CC: carlosdema...@gmail.com, j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When the monitor automatically turns off after a set idle time in the power management settings, the monitor no longer can be turned on as if there is no video signal being sent to the monitor. This bug just occurred after the update to KDE Plasma 6.1.0 from 6.0.5 on KDE neon. Moving the mouse around or pressing keys on the keyboard did not wake the monitor but I was able to unpause a YouTube video while the monitor is still in standby mode. Only if I manually turned the monitor off and back on again will a video signal be sent to the monitor. Another note: It seems that waking the monitor does work if the monitor turned off when the user is idle at the locked screen. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set "Turn off screen" to 5 minutes in power management settings. Did not try other time values yet. 2. Monitor will go into standby mode since no video signal is being sent. OBSERVED RESULT Pressing keys or moving mouse will not wake the monitor. EXPECTED RESULT Monitor will wake up when moving mouse or pressing keys just like before in KDE plasma 6.0.5. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 6.0 - Linux kernel version 6.9.3 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.0 with Wayland (Did not test X11) KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 My computer is running an AMD GPU with Wayland -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
