Thank you for your response. Might I ask what new Dolphin services you
installed? It's possible one of them is contributing to this.
Also, can you share screenshots of the directory before and after extracting
the rar file?
To clarify what I was doing to watch the directory while extracting files:
watch -n .2 'ls -la test1'
This shows all files and directories, including hidden ones. I tested again
with a larger RAR test file (80.5MB) but was still unable to reproduce this
bug.
