Bug ID: 488103 Summary: Applications Started via Krunner Don't Belong To The Current User [very annoying paper cut bug] Classification: Plasma Product: krunner Version: master Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: bugreport...@mailna.me CC: alexander.loh...@gmx.de, natalie_clar...@yahoo.de Target Milestone: --- $ pacman -Qs krunner local/krunner 6.2.0-1 (kf6) [add this version to the versioning box above as its missing] Earlier versions from KDE6 too. ============================ SUMMARY *** When you start a software using krunner (which you should), the started application is totally disassociated with the user the app was started under. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. alt+space 2. type: "kate" 3. type something in Kate 4. press ctrl+shift+s OBSERVED RESULT Following the setps to reproduce (just an example), Kate is trying to save into "/" [root] instead of the ~ ["/home" folder] of the curent user, despite the application being started under the current user. One has to reclick in the long tree from root just to save a file. This (papercut) bug drives me personally up the wall. EXPECTED RESULT Applications started via krunner should "belong" to the current user who started the application. [Did not have this problem in KDE5]. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS local/krunner 6.2.0-1 (kf6) [earlier version from KDE6 are also affected] KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0 Qt Version: 6.7.1 Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: Intel only Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel HD -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
