Such things are possible, especially for me. :-)

I do not have "index hidden files" option checked.

Balooshow say the file is not indexed:

I have not enabled indexing hidden files and folder.

I have now purged my Baloo index an added "/home/peter/papers" as only indexed
folder, which caused zillions of crashes...
