SUMMARY
When opening Discover during automatic update, additional notifications are
created.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable automatic system updates.
2. Wait until the update is triggered, i.e. a notification pop-up about
external update is shown and the Discover app icon has a little "1".
3. Open Discover.
4. Close Discover.
OBSERVED RESULT
The external update notification pop-up is shown twice, the app icon shows a
"2". Every time Discover is opened and closed one more pop-up shows up and the
number increases. Once the update is finished, the same number of "finished"
pop-ups is shown.
EXPECTED RESULT
The notification is not shown again and the app icon number does not increase.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Although I've seen this with rpm-ostree, it might be a more general problem.
