Can p7zip (typically what's the 7z executable in Linux distributions) correctly
extract the files?
I'd suspect that first at least partially because Ark uses that for 7z files,
although the extraction may be done with the K7zip implementation.

Do the affected files contain special characters? Sometimes it's sneaky like
_﹘—- being 4 different characters with the middle 2 being "Unicode", and the
7-Zip project is quite Windows-specific, embracing UTF-16 and locale madness,
making it possible that an archive made on one system isn't handled well on
another:
