I reproduced the issue using the method demonstrated by Vm in his video above. It works well, but took more clicks for me. I also tried two other applications instead of IntelliJ: a Java Swing app and a Compose Desktop app, both using the default JRE and and Jetbrains' JRE (found in ~/.jbr/).
