I completely forgot I filed the bug.
It seems to have been an issue with my zpool set-up and my wavlink external
drive. Drawing power from the wavlink hub resulted in the device transiently
disconnecting. This caused zpool to stop responding and kate seemed to be worst
affected by this but the problem is not a kate issue.
