I had moved the .var/app/tokodon folder by renaming it earlier to .var/app/tokodon copy but Tokodon still wouldn't open fully. This time I moved the folder completely out of .var and Tokodon started correctly, but I had to login to the serve, together with all the associated 2FA. Everything working as expected.
