Bug ID: 484873 Summary: dark window color schemes need more contrast/alternate colors Classification: Applications Product: kate Version: 23.08.5 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: i...@itwrx.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 168023 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=168023&action=edit image of tabs in kate with AdwaitaDark Window Color Scheme chosen *** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** SUMMARY The dark window color schemes of Kate are not all that usable in XFCE with Adwaita-Dark. The active document's tab is not easy to distinguish at all, which is the main usability issue, ime. The "symbol outline" button is black with dark background and therefor not very legible. There may be more, but these are the two gui items i've noticed so far. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. click Settings 2. choose any dark Window Color Scheme 3. open multiple documents, leave the window to perform some other task, or run the program in the terminal, and then come back and try to see which tab is the currently edited/selected/highlighted one. OBSERVED RESULT I can't tell which tab is highlighted. EXPECTED RESULT I should be able to easily see which tab i was editing. IDK what qt or kde version kate 23.08.5 is using in fedora 39. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
