Bug ID: 483474 Summary: Application Launcher always sorts applications alphabetically, ignoring sub-menus Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: master Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff) Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: quinninge...@gmail.com CC: mikel5...@gmail.com, noaha...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 167114 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=167114&action=edit What Kickoff displays, compared to KDE Menu Editor SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a new Panel in Plasma 6 and add the Application Launcher (Kickoff) 2. Create a sub-menu within any major category (Internet, Development, Office, etc.) using the KDE Menu Editor and add or move an application launcher inside 3. Save changes, and attempt to view the category OBSERVED RESULT Contents of category are sorted alphabetically, sub-menus ignored except their contents, which are just shown in the main category as if they were in the main category, not the sub menu. EXPECTED RESULT Contents of category are sorted as set in KDE Menu Editor, including the sub-menu, with its contents solely in that sub-menu. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Garuda Linux (Kernel: 6.7.9-zen1-1-zen (64-bit)) (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Issue was present before Plasma 6, unsure of when it had originally become an issue. Turning "Sort Alphabetically" on or off does not change if submenus are correctly shown. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
