Bug ID: 483245 Summary: Failure to Fetch Encryption Keys Classification: Applications Product: NeoChat Version: 24.02.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: General Assignee: fe...@posteo.de Reporter: dashonww...@pm.me CC: c...@carlschwan.eu Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I had created a private room on element a while back. I'm the only person in the room. E2EE is turned on and it only contains a few pictures from when I was migrating away from telegram. After logging into neochat, it tales me that "This message is encrypted and the sender has not shared the key with this device". I tried reinstalling deleting all configs and logging in again, but it seems like it never gets those keys. I have even crossed verified the session with element web, but the messages never get decrypted. I tested with the nheko client and it seems it was able to decrypt the messages, but I believe it opened a full browser for the login. Maybe that made a difference? What can I do here in the case of neochat? STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a private matrix room with e2ee turned on and upload a few pictures or send a few messages or something. 2. Log into neochat. 3. Go to the room you created. OBSERVED RESULT Messages are never decrypted. EXPECTED RESULT Messages should be decrypted and I should be able to see my images.
