An update for KWrite came out, and, after updating, the problem went away for KWrite. I have also noticed that system themes are not being applied to other flatpak applications now e.g. Signal Desktop (as in the menu bar is in a light theme when it should be a dark theme — prior to updating to Plasma 6, it was a dark theme).
