Bug ID: 481927 Summary: Allow per monitor brightness control in the brightness and color menu Classification: Plasma Product: Powerdevil Version: 5.93.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: qlum...@gmail.com CC: m...@ratijas.tk, natalie_clar...@yahoo.de Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 166154 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=166154&action=edit Screenshot of the brightness window SUMMARY Since plasma 6 power devil seems to provide working brightness controls on external monitors. There is however, no way to control the brightness of individual monitors in a multi-monitor setup via this GUI. Observed result: Only able to adjust all monitors at the same time. Expected result: Be able to control the brightness of individual monitors in addition. Personal use-case: I have a 4 monitor setup, but use 3 different types of panels, these monitors have different brightness levels, adjusting all of them in one go results in one monitor being significantly less bright. I want to be able to adjust brightness quickly depending on how much light enters my room from outside, the current setup does not work for me because of the different brightness levels of my monitors. I will also add that when you only have one type of monitor the current setup works fine, per monitor control would only be a hindrance there. This is the case for me at work. Additional notes: I believe this bug is different from: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=470107 As this is about controlling the brightness of multiple monitors via ddcutil rather than over two different methods of control. And it's about adding functionality, not the control itself being broken. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
