Indeed, Qt contains built-in compatibility layers for the major platforms. It's just the smaller ones (like ours) where the platform is expected to provide their own QPA. FWIW I don't really disagree with you, and I agree the current situation isn't ideal. However it's what we have available absent changes in Qt.
