Writing junk data on write-once discs for testing is wasteful. I did it once using Nero DiscSpeed's testing feature to see if Nero's warning is just a bluff, because I could not imagine something as "simulated writing" not to work. But it wrote actual data. What I found out is that it writes the drive model at the end on DVD plus discs in a way only DiscSpeed itself recognizes it.
