Bug ID: 371509 Summary: reading every new message resynchronizes folder Product: kmail2 Version: 5.1.3 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: folders Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: p...@bezitopo.org I click on an unread message in the message list. Kmail resynchronizes the folder. I'm on a high-latency (satellite) connection and have a lot of email, so this takes about three minutes. During this time, I cannot read any other message. This did not happen before upgrading to Xenial; the version in Trusty is 4.13.3. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on an unread message. 2. "Retrieving Folder Contents" appears, followed shortly by the message. 3. A progress bar appears at the bottom: "Syncing folder 'Inbox'" 4. Click on any other unread message. 5. "Retrieving Folder Contents" appears in the message window and stays there until it finishes synchronizing the folder. Actual Results: After the second unread message appears, Kmail resynchronizes the folder again. If I click on another message, it puts off showing it until it finishes syncing the folder. This means I cannot read more that one new message every three minutes. Expected Results: It should show the message immediately. There is no need to resynchronize folders unless some other app is accessing the same IMAP server, which it isn't. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
