This video shows that folder icons reset when "Previews: Show preview
thumbnails" is disabled and plasmashell restarts
SUMMARY
If you right click on the desktop and go to "Configure Desktop and Wallpaper" >
"Icons" and "Previews: Show preview thumbnails"
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open "Configure Desktop and Wallpaper" and go to "Icons"
2. Untick "Previews: Show preview thumbnails"
3. Restart plasmashell, all folder icons on the desktop now will be reset.
