A video showcasing that the icon is reset after reboot but will change back
after context menu closes

SUMMARY
***
I have a problem with KDE on Debian 12.

At every reboot the desktop icons sort of reset to default but not really. If i
right click the desktop icon and open the context menu and then close the menu
again, the icon suddenly changes back to the one I have set.

This happens to all desktop icons that are either folders or links to folders.
Applications are not affected. It doesnt matter if its just a simple folder or
a link to a directory. It doesnt matter if the link to the directory points to
somewhere on my main drive or other drives.

I can set the icons back to the ones I have set by selecting everything on the
desktop, open the context menu and close it again. But after a reboot, the
desktop icon gets reset to default unless I open the context menu again.

I have created an empty folder on my desktop and changed the icon. Then I
restarted Debian and the folder got its default icon back. Then I right click
on the folder. Notice how the icon has not changed yet. It only changes back to
the icon I have selected after the context menu closes. Refreshing the desktop,
just selecting the icon or moving the icon around does nothing.

I selected the test folder and pressed F2 to rename the folder. Pressing ESC or
RETURN without actually changing the name wont change the icon back to the one
I have set. However, if the name is actually changed the icon gets set back to
the one I have set.

Changing themes like icons, global themes and so on wont change anything. The
problem just happens on the desktop. In Dolphin the icons of folders are always
displayed correctly.

Using Plasma 5.27.5 on Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm) x86_64 with Linux kernel
6.5.0-0.deb12.4-amd64.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Restart Debian with custom icons on dekstop
2. Icons will be reset to default on next reboot
3. Open context menu or press F2 and rename the folder or link and it will have
the custom icon back

OBSERVED RESULT

Desktop icons reset after reboot but will come back after context menu or F2
renaming

EXPECTED RESULT
