Bug ID: 481130 Summary: Network plugin reports "choppy" rates Classification: Frameworks and Libraries Product: ksystemstats Version: unspecified Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: General Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: cont...@etiennemaheu.com CC: ahiems...@heimr.nl Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 165703 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=165703&action=edit Screenshot of a KDE System Monitor desktop widget showing the "Wire connection 1 [Download|Upload] Rate (B/s)" sensors over 1 min during a continuous load. SUMMARY On my current install of Garuda Linux, using the 10gbps ethernet adapter on the ASUS Crosshair x670e Extreme motherboard, I get "choppy" reports from KSystemStats in System Monitor for the Download and Upload rates. Every time the System Monitor updates, it first gets the correct rate, and the next update will yield a 0 byte rate, then the next update has data, then the next is zero again. OBSERVED RESULT See the attached screenshot for a visual demonstration of the problem. EXPECTED RESULT The graph should be continuous and not reset to 0 byte for every even update. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Garuda Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.114.0 Qt Version: 5.15.12 Kernel Version: 6.7.3-zen1-1-zen ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I have noticed that the update rate of the widgets are set to 0.5sec, and there is a comment in the network plugin about a 1sec update rate. Changing the update rate doesn't seem to do anything for me, and, either way, this is not an issue for other sources like filesystem read/write speed, CPU/GPU usage/clock, or temperature sensors. Also, this has never worked correctly for me on this motherboard. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
