So 1. log in, dialog pops up, select "extend to left" which is actually right 2. fiddle around, select "unify outputs", from then on the external screen is black 3. extend left right, causes but of applet appearing on the wrong side but still no output 4. "switch to external monitor only" makes both go black I use the monitor daily on Plasma 5, it has somewhat of a bad contact but it works normally.
