Bug ID: 480618 Summary: Language Switching Issue on Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS - Unable to Change Krita Interface to French Classification: Applications Product: krita Version: 5.0.0 Platform: Ubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: * Unknown Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: tanhaki...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 165409 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=165409&action=edit how my "Switch Application Language" panel appears SUMMARY I am reporting an issue with language settings on Krita. My system, Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS, is set to French, and I expected Krita to follow suit. However, when I navigate to Settings > Switch Application Language, I only see "American English" as the available primary and fallback language options. The problem is that I want to switch to French, but without technical knowledge and a bit of intuition, I can't determine whether I need to install a specific package or re-download Krita entirely, or whether there is or not multilingual support with the Linux version . Additionally, there is no hint or link to redirect users to the appropriate documentation or solution. The "Reset Defaults" and "Cancel" buttons appear in French, indicating that the system's language settings are recognized to some extent. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Krita on Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS. 2. Navigate to Settings > Switch Application Language. 3. Observe that only "American English" is available as the primary and fallback language options. OBSERVED RESULT - The "Reset Defaults" and "Cancel" buttons appear in French, indicating the system's language settings are recognized to some extent. EXPECTED RESULT - The full list of Language options (including French) SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux : Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS Qt Version: Version (compiled): 5.15.2 , Version (loaded): 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I am not seeking assistance but reporting this issue in the hope of a resolution and to emphasize the need for accessible documentation or solutions for users who may not be tech-savvy.
