Bug ID: 479481 Summary: Dragging 'n dropping a file opens a menu asking the user what to do with the file (move, copy or link). Holding ctrl, shift, or ctrl-shift does not change this behavior Classification: Applications Product: dolphin Version: 22.12.3 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: n0body_spec...@proton.me CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** Dragging 'n dropping a file opens a menu asking the user what to do with the file (move, copy or link). Holding ctrl, shift, or ctrl-shift does not change this behavior. Having to choose what to do with a file EVERY time I simply drag it, (instead of simply moving it) is already bad enough, but bearable if able to modify the drag behavior with keys. Not being able to change / circumvent this by using keyboard is so counterproductive, that makes me want to switch distro. Please help *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE drag and drop a file from withing a dolphin window, while holding ctrl, shkft or ctrl-shift OBSERVED RESULT a pop-up menu appears, asking whether you want to move, copy, or create a link of the file EXPECTED RESULT the file should just be copied / moved / made into a link SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian 12 with KDE plasma (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
