This was the change: https://invent.kde.org/graphics/digikam/-/commit/4cfbcbdc0c87bd958f4fa3d2715cefd88932c02b However, I forgot to make this change in the item scanner itself, so the modification date is not updated. As a test, you can change the option in the metadata settings for timestamp updating. The first start will be slow, then the following ones will be faster again.
