It's expected that the app icons shrink when squeezed by other applets that
become bigger (*something* has to get squeezed; there's no way around it), but
it's not expected that the squeezing happens when there's clearly more empty
space on the panel, as shown in your screenshots. That said, I can't reproduce
the issue with my 2-in-1 convertible at either 200% screen scale or 150% screen
scale when I follow your instructions exactly.
Can you reproduce it with a 100% standard panel with no customizations?
