I eventually got a response from Georges who helpfully pointed me to the code
in question, which uses a glob to specify mimetypes:

This currently isn't supported, and it's a known issue in the KDE portal.
I can't reproduce the crash per se, but clearly there is some problem with
glob-based mimetype specification. So I'll mark this as a duplicate of that bug
report for now.
