Plasmashell crashes when moving and changing panel

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Right click panel and enter edit mode
2. choose to position panel to a different location
3. adjust the height of the panel
OBSERVED RESULT
Desktop freezes, then crashes
after desktop has been restarted the panel appears unchanged
EXPECTED RESULT
moved panel and changed panel height
