Is this still a problem with 23.04 and onward? Significant code changes have
happened.
I think this probably wasn't a Spectacle issue. Spectacle doesn't decide what
the thumbnail should look like, except for setting the URL of the screenshot
which is then used by something else to get the thumbnail. I'm not sure which
product to move it to. It could even be a problem from outside of KDE for all
we know. I did encounter this issue very recently, but I'm 99% certain that was
a system configuration related issue that was solved by rolling back my system
to an earlier snapshot.
