I absolutely cannot reproduce your screenshot here under Linux. I can't
remember ever seeing anything like that either.
If an image is zoomed in and the scroll bars are moved, it is normal that this
position is retained when switching to the next image in order to compare
images.
Please post the image sizes of your first image and second image. And post
again step by step what you clicked (Fit to window or 100%).
We also have a new view option in the settings, always adapt small images to
the window, have you activated this?
