It's possible, sometimes docks are weird. You can try to limit the color depth
by putting
KWIN_DRM_PREFER_COLOR_DEPTH=24
into /etc/environment and rebooting; that sometimes helps.
If you could also attach the output of
> drm_info
and of
> journalctl --user-unit plasma-kwin_wayland --boot 0
after trying to set the biggest mode, that could yield some useful information.
