Question: isn't it so that the panel doesn't "intelligently hide" for a non-active window? If I'm not mistaking that was the behavior in Latte-Dock. I think when I was using e.g. firefox full screen there (panel hidden) and I opened another application that not took so much of the screen, the panel appeared over firefox.
