If Qt multimedia is the default backend, then Kasts hasn't been compiled with
VLC support, or VLC isn't available at runtime. That's because VLC is always
set as default if it's available. Qt Multimedia has lots of known problems
related to streaming, so I'm almost certain that that is the underlying issue.
(In fact, streaming in Kasts was only enabled after VLC support was enabled.)
Qt multimedia should only be used as fallback on platforms where VLC isn't
available, like android.
