It seemed perhaps that the problem originated from the fact that I had my Brush Docker positioned on the Left Hand side of the screen but it wasn't docked properly (basically floating). I think that was the main problem. Also, I reassigned new keyboard shortcuts to those actions and now all the "Fit to" options are working as expected. You can clear this bug report.
