This is not a warning, merely information intended for developers and packagers
might find useful or are free to ignore.
FAM library is the only notification system supporting NFS (as the message
says), this is a reason enough to me to keep it supported as long as distro do
ship the dependency, (and no major issues are brought up with it), or an
alternative becomes available.
What GNOME deprecates is there business, although that is an interesting
datapoint.
It seems they never had NFS usecase in mind when they removed support, perhaps
gamin did not have support for it.
