Bug ID: 475619 Summary: Straight lines at the beginnings of strokes with a Wacom Intuos on Plasma Wayland Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.27.8 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: libinput Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: windboun...@protonmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 162304 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=162304&action=edit A screenshot showing brush strokes in Krita that all start with a straight line. SUMMARY When I draw with my Wacom Intuos CTH-690, the beginning of every brush stroke is a straight line. I tried it in Krita, Aseprite, Blender and the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It only happens in the Wayland session of Plasma, not on X11 and also not on GNOME Wayland. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start a Plasma Wayland session 2. Open any drawing application like Krita 3. Using the Wacom Intuos, make any brush stroke on the canvas, for example drawing a circle OBSERVED RESULT The beginning of the stroke is straight as seen in the attached screenshot EXPECTED RESULT The drawn brush stroke should reflect the entire movement that was done with the pen, for example a full circle, instead of seemingly ignoring inputs for a bit after the pen touches the tablet SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.8 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.110.0 Qt Version: 5.15.11 Kernel Version: 6.5.7-arch1-1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I tried Plasma X11/Wayland and GNOME X11/Wayland on Arch, Debian 12.2.0 and Ubuntu 22.04.3, and this issue only happens on Plasma Wayland and on any distro. Drawing in the Krita Tablet Tester on Plasma Wayland however does produce perfect strokes that don’t have a straight line at the beginning. See also my thread at https://krita-artists.org/t/wacom-intuos-analysis-of-straight-lines-at-the-beginnings-or-ends-of-strokes/75702 where someone using a Wacom Intuos Pro M reported experiencing the same issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
