SUMMARY
I have been unable to start Digikam since version 8.1.0. I installed Fedora 38
OS in hopes of getting Digikam to work again. I have been using this software
for some 10 years, but unfortunately now it just crashes without showing any
splash screen, main window, etc.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Digikam from Fedora 38 official repository: sudo dnf install digikam
2. Start up digikam from Gnome menu

OBSERVED RESULT
The application does not start. There is not even any splash screen shown.

EXPECTED RESULT
The applications should start.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 38 
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 
KDE Frameworks Version: 
Qt Version: Using Qt version 5.15.10 in /usr/lib64

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
When I run digikam under GDB, I get the following output:
