I don't know MoneyDashboard and I don't understand the need.
In Skrooge a budget item can be attached to a category (example: Car >
Services).
If you want, you can create a budget item for a parent category (example: Car).
So, I don't really understand what you need more.
Could you give me a detailed example ?
