I'm happy to see some activity on this bug report, after what is already a long
time: almost two years !

Nothing has changed in the meantime, and my views have crystallized a bit in
the meantime:
- if gwenview is intended as an image viewer for Dolphin, it should perhaps
simply be integrated into Dolphin or be installed as a component of it. It
doesn't need to have its own sort settings in that case.
- if gwenview is intended an independent application with its own settings, it
is extremely counterintuitive that its settings are overridden by another
application. Which is why I filed the bug report.

I don't think I know of any other application that has this kind of dependency
in its settings. To somebody who rarely uses Dolphin, it makes no sense.
