Bug ID: 473019 Summary: Allow combining monitors into one or more "monitor groups" on wayland Classification: Plasma Product: KScreen Version: 5.27.7 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: common Assignee: kscreen-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: kortra...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY So first: my use case. I have quite a few old monitors that i'd like to combine together to create one big screen. Unfortunately currently it seems as though this is impossible. To fix this, my feature request involves allowing creation of a virtual monitor of custom resolution that can "contain" other monitors in a "group." This would be seen by windows as one big monitor. I'd love to be able to do this either through the system settings panel or the kscreen-doctor CLI tool. For example, i'd love to be able to combine two 1024x768 screens to become one 2048x768 screen using a virtual monitor group. Is this possible and what are the limitations? It seems like at least in system settings, the only feature that would need to be added would be a way to create custom virtual screens, which then you can stack real screens on top of. *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols.
