Unfortunately, I'm currently away for a longer time from my computer. Therefore
I cannot check, if enabling or disabling the effect makes any difference.
Generally, I don't have any effects active in order to put as little strain on
the GPU (and CPU) as possible, so I __THINK__ that I am experiencing the slower
and more sluggish performance on Wayland vs Xorg without having this effect
enabled. I cannot comment, however, if the performance would be even worse if I
had enabled this effect. I will check as soon as I get back to the computer.
And while I am at it, a big THANK YOU for looking into this issue :-)
