I can still reproduce this. On my setup it occurs the every time right after
activating the effect (i.e. you invoke Overview, start typing, first letter is
duplicated, clear the search bar without closing Overview, start typing again,
the first letter is no longer duplicated), not just the first time after login.
I have not been able to reproduce this on X11, it seems to be isolated to
Wayland sessions only.
